@Lilymoon It's called Shepherd's Pie because it was made from Lamb, or more specifically, Mutton. I grant you that there is no rhyme or reason for a minced beef pie to be called Cottage Pie in Britain

@TheDeathOCuHullainn they're kinda the same over on this side of the pond. Lamb isn't all that common so even with beef people usually still call it shepards pie.
