In Canada what meat do you use for Shepherd's Pie? I know that, rather strangely, in the US they use beef....

It's called Shepherd's Pie because it was made from Lamb, or more specifically, Mutton. I grant you that there is no rhyme or reason for a minced beef pie to be called Cottage Pie in Britain
