Ice cream in coffee?

My wife used to put vanilla ice cream on microwaved hot oatmeal for the kids breakfast. Said it got them to eat the oatmeal, added to the nutritional value, and was a quick time saver while she was getting ready to leave for work.

Sounds creamy.

What I am about to say below is not about ice cream in coffee, but it is about coffee, and it popped in my head so I will write about it.

When I was in college I was on a meal plan and ate at the cafeteria. I used to like to fill a mug with a little coffee, chocolate milk, then maybe hot chocolate (if I recall), some sugar, and then often a tea bag, too!

I have done that with natural vanilla ice cream and it was tasty

The Italians call a scoop of vanilla ice cream in coffee ‘affogato’ (drowned). In fact, I had one in an Italian restaurant only a few weeks ago
