I do, but it can be exhausting sometimes.. I prepped, cooked and baked all day yesterday for my kid’s birthday. It was worth it making her Favs and seeing her happy, but I’m still exhausted 😯
I made Chicken Francaise, garlic bread and Strawberry Shortcake:
Some don’t have seasoning on top b/c my youngest two kids won’t eat it if they can see it 🤭
Omgggf I love it. I wish I was there to enjoy those dishes. 🤤🥴 especially the strawberry short cake. Looks bomb af.
I love to cook. When I made my seafood boil it took hours to make, because I had to cook the seafoods individually so they wouldn’t overcook, and watch them closely. I also made corn, potatoes, and sausage with it, and then a spicy butter sauce to drizzles on top. It was sooo good though. 😭 can’t wait to get a chance to make it again. Was expensive though. But I love to cook !
@StarkSure, there’s even a short cut making it if you want 😌 I love making it in cups b/c it comes so soft and breaks easily. I’ll do a full cake if it’s for a birthday. The cups are the same though, I cut pieces of the cake or cupcakes slices in these kinda plastic cups and layer with cool whip, strawberries and the liquid. And my secret ingredient I’ll tell you 🤭😂
Wow! That all looks terrific! I assume she (and her friends) enjoyed it??!! I love cooking. I refuse to buy anything from jars or packages anymore. I get a thrill when someone asks where I bought the sauce, or the dressing, or whatever It may be, and I tell them I made it myself. :)
@SooperSarahSometimes recipes timings are off. I take longer to make certain things b/c I am meticulous w/some things. Plus I make way more than they say to.
Looks wonderful and very well received too. I do a steak pie and slowly braise the meat filling and then make my own puff pastry. It's a bit of an aussie recipe, but there's never any left.
@Kazuya69Well not so much, this one has butter and other different flavors but it’s similar in that they use wine and go on chicken and pasta 😅 I like this one better.
@SW-User Oh nice! What kinda things do you like to make?
SW-User
@MellyMel22 I like to make Italian dishes; I've made all kinds of pasta dishes, lasagnas; I also like to make chilis and stews, as well some Mexican dishes like albondigas soup, enchiladas, and Mexican rice.
*hugs* Those all look good 😋🤤 My two most elaborate dishes are my chili from scratch and slow cooker beef roast with veggies. Yes, they're simple comfort foods, but prep on both seems to take forever.
@Beatbox34Haha.. thanks! My Lol guy ate the garlic bread but freaked out a tiny piece of parsley was on his pasta 🤣 Yet he ate a little of the wine sauce on it not realizing it was there..
Turkey dinner with all the trimmings including homemade rolls and two kinds of pies, have to start on it the day before to get it done by lunch the next day.
I used to do amateur catering. I was the hospitality hostess for my singles group at one time. I used to make a LOT of hors d'oeuvres and appetizer platters for them. This one was a bit of work:
@4meAndyouIt definitely looks like a great recipe! I don’t eat meat, chicken or fish, but I’ll cook it(not fish). My mom would probably love your recipe! I should share it with her 😄
I like to change up my big time-consuming meals. I've been on a vegetarian Indian/Pakistani food spree recently so the last major cooking projects I did was that sorta thing. Getting 5-6 dishes out for company.
My biggest thing this past year was a turducken done all by hand and a lot of sausage making.
@MellyMel22 Well the vegan/vegetarian Indian food I've been making is probably more up your alley! I also made my own falafel for the first time last weekend.
And yeah, basically I try to do something interesting once a week or so.
