have you ever been mistaken for something you're not

i have a few times, my ancestry -origins are from italy and germany, i was born in the uk...and when i posted my picture online once a few people thought i was from egypt or north africa...and i felt very offended by their false perceptions.

i want to know how do you deal with being mistaken for what you're not?
Politely. It's not a big deal, usually.
Sometimes it's better to be mistook. You learn something about yourself in the process.

@nonsensiclesnail what do you learn from being mistook? as you put it.
tallpowerhouseblonde · 36-40, F
I get asked if I have any Scandinavian DNA because I'm tall and blonde and of course I have heard those dumb blonde jokes.
I laugh at the jokes and sometimes add one of my own,as for the Scandinavian heritage not that I'm aware of.
It’s not important.

@DancesForJabba it is to me!
@Jungleman Why?
Jungleman · M
@DancesForJabba i want people to have the accurate perception of me, understandably.
