Credit Unions?

I'm looking into switching to a credit union.
Just browsing around on the site.
It's late and it was on my mind so I hopped on the computer.

Question is: Can you get cash back from your credit union account from say a grocery store, like you can with a debit card?

hi

credit unions in BC/Canada are direct competitors of the Canadian banks, although the Credit unions are for the most part regulated by the provincial government.

yes they have debit and credit cards.

Cash back when you use your debit card is a merchants option I believe . I've tried it recently and it was not permitted.

Credit Unions are sometimes local, and if they run a contest at the Credit Union, you have a much better chance of winning with a smaller pool of entrants.

My brother won an all expense paid Alaskan Cruise at his credit union in Michigan.

@4meAndyou oo, good to know, thank you
Yes, you can. I've been a credit union member since 1987 and I love it.

Yes, it functions exactly the same.

I do it all the time

Sure, as long as your credit union has issued you a debit card.
