Do physical bank branches where you live still provide services that are actually banking, like cash transactions (both ways), etc?

Physical bank branches are shrinking here and many make you pay a fee to do cash transactions over the counter (regardless that you're an account holder at the bank).

We will not have cheques in Australia from about 2028/9, so it's quite possible the government is planning an 'assault' on cash starting around then. I haven't got a cheque for years, and I can't even get them to pay other people with anymore.

The few that remain provide a full range of services . . banks in the UK are fairly compliant following the huge bail-outs they received from the tsxpayer in 2007-8. Post Office counters provide physical services on behalf of most banks. I have never heard of a fee to make a transaction over the counter.
