My Bank is giving me trouble and I just need to vent about it.
My Eftpos card has 3 accounts attached to it (Debit, Cheque and Savings) which I wasn't happy with when they issued it to begin with. I don't Debit anything and have only used the Cheque account as a way to save some money were it is also readily available should I need it.
But this past week. Internet banking has allowed my to put money in but can't take money out. I cannot transfer it out or withdrawal at the eftpos machine.
I went into the bank today and they told me the account was even in my name! How can this be I said, the teller didn't believe I was who I said I was and was trying to be cryptic without saying too much. The account turned out to be one I had access to and actually closed the account 19 years ago. I don't know how the error on the banking system occurred but we sorted that out can I please have my money.
No she said. It would have to be signed out by the people who are eligible to do so. Okay, that would be me, Can I have my money?
No, you'll have to go into the branch the account was started from and get them to do it. Lady, I say, the account was started 21 years ago in a town 800km's away. There is an error on your system can I get my money out.
She then went through the process of changing branch numbers and updating my home address and said our business was concluded, have a nice day. I said you still haven't given me the money... It was actually turning into a live version of that old song 'There's a hole in my bucket' so I left.
