Well I have given large sums of money before. I don't consider them lending though.
I don't give, expecting it back. Lending is a capitalist concept, that even expects greater returns. That is not giving, that is expecting something greater back. Therefore the giver becomes the receiver.
Noticed the paycheck statement. I find it interesting, because no employer will give back interest. 🤣
In no way is that paycheck a gift or lending. In fact it's less the interest, due them back, for not paying them immediately. 😈

no but i gave all my money to my elder brother when he moved to another country.. it wasn't much tho just like a hundred bucks or so.. but he's bought me airline tickets since then to visit family out of state so he's way more that paid me back even tho i never asked nor wanted him to

I did and after a few years I told them they didn’t have to pay me back.

We had a friend who borrowed $5K and took many years to finally pay it back.
I put the deposit down on an apartment for me and my ex.
Why not, I work at workplace to expect pay check later

Not really. Any large sums you lend are actually grants because you know they can't pay you back even if they wanted to. I don't want the thought of that damnd money nagging the person. Fortunately most people can forget debts pretty easily. One person actually did pay me back 2 k though. Shocked me.

My younger brother was selected to play AFL for a team in another state. So I loaned him $10,000 to get him started. He said he'd pay me back as soon as he got his first pay check. The prick quit after the first week and has never mentioned the money...
Apparently he has an account he uses for his gambling that is only for his gambling. And doesn't draw from it for anything else, mooching off of his family when his broke but boasted he had $40,000 grand... He asked me to help him with groceries (His kids will starve) when he had spent all that money on a PS5 playstation.
