I have trained in MMA and other combat technics for over 32 years, I never had a female partner to train with, but when I trained, I trained 80 to 100% effort. Because you train how you fight, and if a woman could roll with that then I would train with her.
@WillaKissing it just depends how confident the guy is on how they handle sparring with a female. Low ego men will try literally to fight me confident men all but lay me down on the matt
@WowwGirl Mine was all for real life combat, and I/we trained for real combat, so if a woman was allowed into our combat unit (Which they were no allowed at the time) she would have had too brutally train with us because we went into combat not to submit but to end our opponent's life as rapidly as possible.
Different MMA than what is taught at regular dojos.
It doesn't matter if you are partnered up with a man or a woman -- everyone is there to learn and grow. And, I learned long ago that if you treat a female sparring partner "more gently," she will be offended and will find a way to make you pay for it big time! lol
@KarateAaron I'm the opposite I want to be treated different because I am different. Those girls had self esteem issues or not confident in the process.
If it was a very basic low contact class, perhaps. But, I’ve trained for years. I’d be uncomfortable going full speed against any woman in most circumstances.
@Adogslife interesting person are you. I don't like standing up fighting much I've trained it but I don't like it, definitely more comfortable on the ground
@WowwGirl Don’t feel bad! You’re teaching him there is a hole in his defense (and giving him an opportunity to practice and improve defending there!) … and you are helping him increase his pain tolerance! lol
