Would it be odd for a guy to have a female partner in a MMA class

Would you feel inclined to be more gentle, would you not care who the partner was or, would it make you uncomfortable in general?

If it was a very basic low contact class, perhaps. But, I’ve trained for years. I’d be uncomfortable going full speed against any woman in most circumstances.

There’s nothing to be gained.

@Adogslife not full throttle going but ground work for sure

@WowwGirl I haven’t had that experience. I wrestled in D1, but that was well before women entered the sport. I’ve only limited skill in Jiu Jitsu and haven’t rolled with a woman. My last full contact black belt tournament was in April 2018’.

Since then I’ve done Wing Chun, JKD and some boxing; but, my passion is Kali. I still compete there and actively train. The only women in our MMA gym are there for kickboxing, so there’s not much crossover.

@Adogslife interesting person are you. I don't like standing up fighting much I've trained it but I don't like it, definitely more comfortable on the ground

@Adogslife my passion is judo.

@WowwGirl Props to you. I love when women choose a martial art to stay mentally and physically healthy.

Funny, as an ex-wrestler, you’d think I know a bit about Judo. I really don’t.

Congratulations on your passion… love that. 🙏🏻😎💪🏻
