A friend of mine often opined that 90 percent of attraction was personality. By their nature, fictional characters — the good ones, anyway — have pretty distinctive personalities. Also, a significant reason we like fictional characters, I think, is that it's possible to know a fictional character on a level that it's simply impossible to truly know a living person.
So, is it weird to be attracted to an animation character?
Oh, yeah. Totally weird. Freak. 😆

@Amylynne I don't like girls "drawn that way." I much prefer the real thing, or at the very least images of the real thing. But that's just me.

@DunningKruger i get it! me too.
ther was an artis drew lifelie portraist of cartoon people
not realistic but reflecting the reality of those figures
the Jessica Rabbit was hideous
consider a real world barbie..
downright deformed

@Amylynne That said, I think it's possible to develop feelings of some sort for any character that we build up in our minds. For a long time, I thought I had a crush on Jodie Foster, but I eventually realized that I really had a crush on Clarice Starling as portrayed by Foster.
Even actual relationships are based around the image of the person that we keep in our minds, which may not be the actual person at all. I think that's why a lot of people stay in bad relationships, because they're attached to their idea of the person, while the real person may be totally different.

it has become such a norm, that it may have spawned all the "furry" culture
I have dressed up as a cartoon character ( DR Girlfriend)
i think this has alot to do with early sexual feelings,, what one is exposed to in that moment of early sexual interest can fix us on an ideal

No more weird than being attracted by a male automated voice on the phone. There is one male voice that makes me feel like melting butter any time I hear “him.” I’ve always been attracted by certain male voices, so no, I don’t think it’s weird. Impractical and futile, but not weird.

I said yes because it's weird to me, because I can't imagine it, but I don't necessarily think it's weird for others.

I don’t think it’s on in our world. Our nature, would have us associating with a small number of people, less than 200. And a physical world. But in a non-physical world we see thousands and thousands of people in an animated character is designed on purpose to be engaging. I have myself said oh gosh I’d certainly date her, about some cartoon character @Rainandforest
In an unrelated note. Your name sounds like where I live. A wonderful beautiful place perhaps you live someplace similar

I'm assuming you mean sexual attraction. In which case, I use to think so at first. But that's certainly changed over the course of my years.
Well not so sure. I have a crush on jesse from team rocket and also lust from full metal.. I love lusts deepish womanly voice and her black hair
