I think I'd go with alter and see memories and find lost memories. Then I'd seek work as a trauma therapist and help people overcome horrific experiences. Be able to see to understand and altering would be a last resort with the intention of making an experience easier to live with. So I wouldn't have them forget what happened but maybe spare some of the graphic detail. Need to be careful to not change who they are as a result of the experiences, but just enough to help them heal and move forward.

@MisterBander I suppose a good question is whether I could alter my own memories if the trauma becomes too much. I'm already in a position where I care way too much about everyone and everything though, so it already affecting me. So may as well have Adnan ability to do something about it.

The backwards time travel one is impossible for multiple reasons. It's far more likely to go fowards in time, than backwards even. And basically we have already done that to a very minor degree.

I know, I know, you are thinking in a fantasy mainer. Yet even fantasy must have some limits. Otherwise in becomes insanity. And backwards time travel is definitely that insane.
Forgetting relativity, the impossibly of such a thing could be demonstrated through the impossibility of negative rates of change. It just can't be shown. Everything changes in a positive direction.

Time travel is a very tricky subject …
How often can you use the power to turn back time by a max of 12 hours? Because if you can use it whenever you want, you can immediately turn it back by another 12 hours, then another… so you can do it for as long as you like.
And if you can do it instantaneously, then you can travel back to any point of time that you like, just by repeating it continuously.
And do you become 12 hours younger when you do it? Because that could be very awkward, especially if you go back more years than your age.

@Glossy Your biology doesnt change when going back and using your power is like using your muscles. You have a limit that varies depending on how much you've exercised and strengthen your ability. But even the strongest person has a cap they’ll never pass unless theyre superhuman. What that cap would be for time travel? I have no idea lol. But who in their right mind would wanna go back so far without a way back to their original present?

@RunawayKaz Can you meet yourself when you go back. You can have a multitude of “you” as one more “you” would be added whenever you jumped back in time.
Also, if you jump back 12 hours, the Earth will have turned half way around its 24 hour rotation and moved slightly in its orbit around the sun, so you’d end up over one and a half million miles away from when you started.
