How much fetish is too much fetish?

I'm talking online here. If you're playing with someone new, do you break them in gently? Test how open they might be? Or do you just roll with it because it turns you on?

Gotta break em in gently. Test the waters. See what works and what does. Asking what their hard/soft no's are. Communication will get you far.
