Although it may sound sexist,I belive that is true of women in particular.

I think it all comes to just envy and jealousy…it’s just like if you actually are a naturally beautiful stunning looking individual… you may get hated on or even treated a certain way because of it…
But in reality they like you so much and may want to be you or have your beauty.

@Heavenlywarrior Envy and jealousy, certainly. But, in my experience, I do not believe it was based on them "liking" me in reality.
Some people see the world as a zero-sum game. If someone appears to be better than expected it can only detract from them. Thus, that person must be "taken down a peg or two" just to bring their world back into balance.

In what way? If u mean dress nice plus as in not easy.. that kinda shizzle well than no but but if someone is easy than maybe they are sort of a target.

@PrincessRoarBuddy When one is well dressed (skirt outfit, dress, suit) she may look less likely to offer effective resistance to harassment.

This is a horrible state of affairs. People who have taste in apparel, should be lauded,
Please keep making the world more beautiful

It shows you respect yourself and your appearance. You cannot control what other people wear.

I never wear anything that is worth stealing. This is a very bad neighborhood .

many will envy your good taste in dress and others will admire you for it :)

If you dress nicely it’s obvious you’re poor, it’s the one that dress like the homeless that have all the money

@MonaReeves86 My circumstances were quite poor in my early years. My birth mother was abusive and her "boyfriends" were worse. Then she went to prison (and died there within a year) and I was taken in by my rather wealthy and very indulgent grandmother. She was gentle and loving. It gave her joy to see me beautifully dressed and I wanted to give her so much joy. She provided me with wardrobe of lovely dresses, elegant suits and magnificent gowns.
