not weird at all it is common ethusiast hobby there is flea market in my town every weekend.Saw countless same group of people keep visiting to diving for rare used watch.

I met a london jeweller once who told me some very rich watch collectors hear of a new watch say for 25k coming out and pay up front for 2 or 3 watches.
