I think it's because our society has adopted a more casual approach to style. Look at how the general public dressed (both men and women) in the 40s, 50s, 60s. People looked really sharp. Today it's very different. From the ultra casual look to the "I don't care...Imma gonna wear pajamas and slippers" crowd.

I love skirts. I don't wear them often because they kinda get in the way of every day stuff. But I love how they feel.

I wear miniskirts and I'm not the only one around here who does.

I think women really enjoy comfort over anything..when leggings and yoga pants started emerging I think many embraced that we could have comfort while still having a bit of style. I definitely see less skirts too. I never enjoyed wearing them lol.

Last time I was in a skirt was when I was 10, I personally don't like sitting with my legs cross and I want to be in clothes that allows me to be physically active in, skirts don't allow any of that.

I mostly only see them in the office where I work. They are not super short and usually leggings are worn underneath.

I still see skirts and dresses on ladies of all ages at church. My wife seldom wears a skirt, although when we were dating years ago, she always was in a dress or skirt.

I know someone who wears skirts. They're thick, I think that's why. But they look good in them. It does seem like most woman wear jeans or pants.

Skirts are typically reserved for conformance to an office dress code or for more of a formal than casual setting, but if I wear a skirt which is not often, it will only be what I'd call a mini-skirt which is an informal fun skirt versus a formal skirt.
