I wonder why the People bar is showing me users who haven't logged in for ages, sometimes even years?

Same thing happened to me. People from years ago who aren't here anymore, people who deactivated, etc

And then it got very limited, showing only a couple of people, and then it was reduced to just showing one user at a time

Now it has disappeared for me. It's always been glitchy af

Yeah, I responded to some of them thinking they were back but they are long gone. SW keeps their accounts active because their advertising revenue depends on numbers.

I get the same thing, it seems when nothing new is coming in they use old profiles for filling in,,just my theory
