What Country did your Mom or Dad use to try and shame you to eat all your veggies?

My mom never picked any particular part of the world and would just tell me how there are people starving all over. But not that she really needed to because money would be tight growing up. Sometimes I would learn firsthand to be grateful for the food I had. Now wasting food is a huge pet peeve of mine.

My mother never said anything like that. She would take my food away from me if I had a tic or outbursts and wouldn't give it back to me unless I could sit still for 20 minutes without one.

Africa was the place in the 90’s “eat your food, there are kids starving in Africa”

I think it was like a so you don't like your food but there’s kids across the world who don't even have food.. sorta thing

None, they would just say there's people out there with no food but very rarely because I was a chubby kid and ate everything and more lmao

I wasn't a fussy eater, so never had that issue.
Plus, couldn't really work as I'm in Africa.

They didn't try that. I just couldn't leave the table until I ate everything on my plate.
