Did your Mom or Dad ever talk baby talk to you when you were little? And do you find yourself compulsively repeating the same word or phrase?

My mother once told me that as a toddler, I followed her around incessantly, so that often, she would nearly trip over me. She used to say to me, "Watchie- Watchie!"

And now, I have a cat that loves to get right under my feet, and out from the dusty archives inside my brain...what has appeared?

"Watchie-Watchie!"

What word or phrase that your Mom or Dad used, in baby talk, do you find yourself helplessly repeating?

No, no baby talk was ever used in my parents' home by either of them. But when you fell or got hurt somehow, you always got looked at and told you're not dying so get or go do this or that. Compassion was not used at all. I used compassion with my kids, but not others.

@WillaKissing I was always told, "Quit whining!" Or..."Why don't you CRY about it?" 馃ぃ馃ぃ馃ぃ The baby talk stopped when I turned four. 馃槈
