Can you believe.....

My two year old still don’t go sleep on her own I have to be in the room for her to go sleep, if I leave she get up and messes about and even wakes her baby sister up just so I come back in.
I’ve tried sitting just outside her room and going in and out every so often I’m running out of ideas.
Her baby sister who is 8 months sleeps so much better but if I’m in the room she fights sleep so you can imagine.
It is partly my own fault I held her a lot when she was a baby she was my first and I just wanted to be with her but know I’m suffering and so is she..,...
Any advice?
The first ones are always the most spoiled! I feel ya...😣

Give her lot of activities during the day, so that she is tired enough to sleep like a baby. 😉🤗

That sucks you have a little one in the same room. That ruins a lot of tactics.

Maybe put the younger child with you for a few nights until the two-year old learns the new limits.

Boundaries are hard to implement afterwards. It takes a heck of a lot more patience and it's going to be painful for both of you.

@SW-User yeah I hear you, but then the baby won’t get any sleep with her dads snoring lol she 8 months

Even at that age you may be able to convince your two year old that she needs to be a big girl and set a good example for the baby. If you approach her that way, there is at least some chance of success.

It is so soooo easy to spoil the first one! But it is not too late to teach her. You just have to find the right approach.

@justbob I’ve tried this many times with her. But I still always say it

Have you tried melatonin, white noise?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@MiraRoss oh, okay, I took it literally. If you can get to a sleep specialist there really may be ways to help.

@samueltyler2 with what’s going on unless it’s an emergency i don’t go out to see people

@MiraRoss I would think that you could do this virtually.

@SW-User oh wow. I just sit next to her bed which I don’t see point because most times she covers her face up

@SW-User not much of she does and it rare she has a sleep at all
leave her alone its hard but she will learn and change.

I do that and she comes out her room @nevergiveup
@MiraRoss just put her back in her bed and walk away. She will learn. I have have had 4 kids and 2 of them was like your daughter
