My best friend keepings wanting to see or connect with her mom but her mom wants NOTHING to do with her and she gets hurt. What do I do?

If a parent doesn't call you, visit, or even make an effort to say, "Happy Birthday." to a child, should that person just cut all ties from that parent?
That's what my best friend told me what her mom did. She was heartbroken that her mom didn't wanna talk to her when she wanted to wish her a "Happy Mother's Day". She always has her hopes up when she thinks her mom will turn around. I feel so bad for her because she doesn't have a mother. I mean it's sad. What should I tell her?

I can relate to her. It sucks having no mom growing up

just support her in her decision to keep her heart open toward her mother. she has to go through the steps to accepting reality, and it might be heartbreaking, at times. there's nothing to do or say.

@SW-User Wow that's sad. I'm so sorry. So she didn't tell you and she wanted you to learn for yourself right?

@LaurieKitKat94 thanks.

yeah, she said it was important, and that it would have reinforced my defenses against accepting it, if she...or anyone else, tried to push me to it.

Me personally there nothing you can really day to make the heartache go away just be there for her and if you and your mom cool with it share your mom with her yes that mean you and your friend will be like sisters and I know what the heartache feels like when one parent not in your life

@PrinceFrank I share my mom with her a lot. I even told her if she wants to talk to my mom, I wouldn't mind at all. My mom said she is like another daughter to her.

That is sad. Why does the mom want nothing to do with her though?
ShaythePanTransMan · 22-25, T
@LaurieKitKat94 Wow. That’s selfish....
LaurieKitKat94 · 26-30, F
@ShaythePanTransMan I know. I feel so bad for my best friend

Yea I would have nothing to do with the mom
LaurieKitKat94 · 26-30, F
@smileylovesgaming Do you think my best friend should just forget her? I don't know what to say to her.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@LaurieKitKat94 yes she should
LaurieKitKat94 · 26-30, F
@smileylovesgaming Poor girl. She gets upset when my mom and I bond. Same when she sees our other friends with theirs. I share my mom with her and I told if she wants to talk to my mom anytime, she is more than welcome.
That’s what my “dad” does.
😭😭😭
@LaurieKitKat94 How old? She has a dad or siblings?
LaurieKitKat94 · 26-30, F
@Awfullybrave yes. A dad and three older brothers. She hates being the only girl in the house.
@LaurieKitKat94 Well that's what she GOT...Tell her to be grateful that she has a family.. Brothers are good.. Father is good. Sounds like mum if from other planet but we don't choose our lives or family.. Very sad but a woman who does that to her child is obviously unwel..She have to see therapy if she needs and actually appreciate those who are with her.. SORRY I sounds tough and mean.. But life is real hard. Real hard at time... But yes is sad 😥. Bet someone is worse off though.. Just sayin... And you seem like a sweet friend.. She will be OK. ❤️
