The Basque language has no known linguistic relatives

I did not know that
What is unknown about that is probably important to Europe. The erased people include the Etruscans - their alphabet looks just like A, B, C etc, and there's a ton of writing in it - but we just don't translate that. And there's no Basque country or Kingdom of Two Sicilies on the map. Europe refused to include some people.

@Roundandroundwego True. In fact, I think some linguistic scholars think Basque MAY be related to Etruscan. But that hypothesis is tentative at best.
@SW-User seems obvious, and yet I'm erased, too. And it's maddening.

Could it be the tongue of the Devil? 🤷
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@calicuz I think that is the safest assumption.

@calicuz leave my tongue out of this!

It's known as a language isolate. And it's not just Basque, there are many others throughout the world. Korean MAY be one of them as well.

It is yeah.
It's not Finno-Ugric, Indo-European or Semitic. It's a language isolate.
Nor did I; that’s very interesting.
