@Convivial Ah ok. The only benefit i can see is the child will not be hungry if the biological mother cannot feed due to any illness or no production. Other than that the child gets all the goodness and benefits of the breast milk.

I understand that wet nurses are still employed in developing countries where commercial formula is less available. In some circles there’s controversy with having a stranger provide something so intimate when it’s not absolutely necessary. The West, alas, tends to fetishize the concept.
By what I understand, it's only recommended when the mothers are unable to nurse due to various reasons, whether they cannot produce milk, on medications, or having a disease.
