Birthday card update

Thanks for all the advice on this.

So after dinner i took my daughter to her room and gave her the card. She opened it and read it. She took the money and sat it on her night stand.

She looked at the card again got up and put it in her dresser.

Honey

Can we watch a movie

Yeah whatever you want i said.

We watched the movie had popcorn and everyone went to bed.

30 minutes later she comes out holding a bunch of cards.

Mommy didn't write this card. Look. Grandma did. She drops them on the table. I pick up a few and look at them.
See grandma did it. Not mommy.
She couldn't even send me a card for my birthday.

Tears fill her eyes and i hold her tight.

Im sorry honey.

After a while she drys her eyes and smiles

Its ok daddy. I have you. She kisses my cheek and hugs me again.

Goodnight daddy.

Night sweetheart.
