They are both gone, but dad was always dad. Mom was mom...sometimes, mother.

@SW-User 🙂.
"Daddy-O" i love that. 50's i would have to say.
None of us ever got nick names. Closest was me being called by my middle name instead of carla.

my parents had a lousy marriage before divorcing and it affected my relationship with them.
I didn't say mommy or daddy at any point. But I did learn a lot from their marriage. my mom married for money and my dad for looks. I learned that was a really a weak bond for a marriage before I ever had my first date --which turned out to be gold in terms of things to learn from your parents.
Ironically my dad didn't not learn that. He remarried later to a woman based on looks alone (and she married him for his higher economic status) and he two crappy marriages in one lifetime.

I have an audio recording of my early childhood days and I am asking “where’d Mama ‘do?” I was under the age of 3 most likely 2 and a few because I was their only child at the time. I don’t think I ever sad it with a ”y” at the end though??
Badjujubee · 46-50, F
@SW-User I don’t think so but I can always ask to be sure.

@SW-User I was just thinking that I’m curious enough to ask my parents. Don’t feel bad at all. I didn’t take any offense. You’re fine. Golden even.

exexec · 61-69, C
They were "Momma" and "Daddy" until the day they died, but I don't actually remember our last conversations.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
I know if my oldest daughter calls me daddy, it means she needs money
