No more volleyball for her

My daughter asked me if she could stop playing volleyball at the end of the season and spend more time practicing the violin and piano. I'm struggling with this a little. I want her to be happy but volleyball is the only thing that she does that has her interacting with other kids besides her brothers. She's a pretty good player too. But if she loves playing the instruments more I don't want to hold her back.

I think it's a good sign that she asked you, but I'm not surprised you are conflicted. Have you asked her why? Some kids are actually just plain exhausted by all the activities they pack into their busy lives.

Hopefully there will be opportunities to join a band or orchestra which should expand her social horizons 🙂

@SunshineGirl I'm going to ask her about tonight. We really didn't have much time this morning.

@Cigarguy101 We have a niece with autism traits. When she wanted to give up gymnastics to focus on school exams it was painful for all of us, but she had some good reasons and it was important that we understood those and supported her.
