Mother-daughter yoga class

My wife bought us an introductory course as a Christmas present. I was a little apprehensive to start with, but our girl took to the lessons with her usual no-prisoners-taken enthusiasm 😊 She is particularly fond of the warm-down session at the end when we sit in a big circle and she has a captive audience for her observations on how much more efficiently a 14 year old body operates than a 39 year old equivalent 🤦‍♀ It took a few weeks for her to get the hang of "mindfulness" and realise that you don't need to immediately shout out whatever pops up in your head. We've even mastered "virtual guinea pig grooming" as a way of encouraging my little buddha to find her inner calm 🧘🏽‍♀

Back in January I found myself mildly jealous of other mums at the class and their quiet daughters with tidy hair. Now as we sit back-to-back on the yoga mat I feel nothing but happy reassurance 😌

My mum did yoga for years and loved it.
That's sweet that you both go.

@Cinderellagirl You'll love yoga. No going outside in the cold and wet!

I like the upside down moves in yoga obviously! 🙃🙃🙃 But because I am like a big kid I would also find the calming side of yoga a little difficult because I have loads of energy and am very bubbly but the upside down moves I'd love! 😌😌😌

@MommyLucy You don't have to suppress your energy, you just direct it in different ways 😌 Which can be useful. I was sceptical to begin with, but our girl is picking up some good techniques to use at school and at home!
