@peterlee Camilla ? Charles "side-piece" ? Meghan has been an activist and was pretty well respected in some circles. And she’s still young. The Brits don’t really get that. As far as Grace Kelly goes, she was beautiful and talented, but her career was short, compared to other actresses of her generation who got to accomplish much more.

@bijouxbroussard Camilla is our Queen. And an extremely good one at that. Highly supportive of the King in poor health.

It is so sad that she was not allowed to marry Charles in her youth. That was the fault of the Church of England. It has a lot to answer for. I have no qualms about having a Roman Catholic Monarch.

Meghans behaviour to the Princess of Wales has been lamentable. She is an extremely brave lady, and in poor health.

I am a monarchist and proud of it. I stood in the Mall for Diana’s funeral. Stood there for Anne’s wedding too.
As I said elsewhere, I shudder at the thought of a President Starmer or Farage. The monarchy is a force for good.

@peterlee You were speaking of "class". I suppose that depends on how you define it. Wasn’t she married when she first became involved with Charles ? I agree that it is unfortunate that she and Charles weren’t able to marry initially. Both he and Diana probably would’ve been happier (and Diana might still be alive).

I tend to take what I read about Meghan (especially from the British press) with a grain of salt. Once she was no longer just Harry’s "exotic girlfriend", the tone changed. She’s said that she faced a certain amount of discrimination and awkward questions since marrying Harry, and I totally believe that.

Meghan also made a point of saying that the late Queen Elizabeth was never anything but kind and welcoming, and I believe that, too. Elizabeth was the epitome of class.
