I don’t know if that is from the other or to you. But definitely would be heartbreaking for the one who may not want this.
@Jonjdw I'm sending it to him, he's the psychopath

faery · F
Very well-written. Wishing you every possible blessing in your journey ❤
Great letter and took a lot of courage on your part. I just hope he gets out.
@Sojournersoul thank you... Yes, it took me 2 years, rebuilding myself along the way
Old51 · 70-79, M
Good letter
You have a good drafting ability
all the best to you and the kids going forward....hope everything goes smoothly
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, MNew
I like how you handled this. I'm hoping it all works out.
@WanderingHelplessly thank you.. I was so scared to send it, but I actually feel a lot better now... At least for now
WanderingHelplessly · 51-55, MNew
@AbsolutelyFabulous Just make sure you have the support people on standby. I've dealt with people enough to know some get violent if they are going to lose control of something.
@WanderingHelplessly I will try to find someone
good luck, Sounds like it's time
@Bexsy yes, thank you, It's been time for ages, but I guess mentally I wasn't there
@AbsolutelyFabulous i get that. I really do. I asked myself sometimes how did i put up with things for 16 years? But. As you said you have to be mentally ready
@Bexsy it's because we refuse to believe that they're actually bad.. We think there's hope or we can reason with them
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
So sorry but it sounds like the right decision. My youngest daughter went through the same. She is now years later, in a very good marriage. The girls call him their bonus dad.
@samueltyler2 thank you
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@AbsolutelyFabulous my pleasure
Mrnotsonew · 61-69, M
Hope he does what you ask in the letter.
@Mrnotsonew he rang me immediately and said he had to get a solicitor in an implied threat way as If to suggest that I'd have something to worry about
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
Good luck with all that.
caccoon · 36-40
I hope everything goes smoothly and safely. 💙
caccoon · 36-40
@AbsolutelyFabulous will you have the police there to oversee his moving out? I am worried about you 💙
@caccoon I will try to do this peacefully I will wait and see what he's like when he gets home, I think maybe I should go to a solicitor and get advice
caccoon · 36-40
@AbsolutelyFabulous I think you should, too 💙 he sounds dangerous, and this could drive him to do very bad things

Is it possible for you to stay with family/friends while he moves out?
CallMeWhatever · FNew
You’ve got this ❤❤
@CallMeWhatever thank you 💕

That's an excellently worded letter, legally speaking. I also like that it's not gender specific and could be used by either sex.
However, it is essentially just a notification of intent that is not in any way shape or form legally binding.
Though it does start an important paper trail on a strong note.

Another thing I'd note is that unless sent through a registered mail service that requires His/Her signature, there is no way to prove receipt of said notification by whichever party.

I'd be remiss not to mention that there is no authority other than the Courts that can order a spouse to vacate any shared premises, other than police. In the case of police, they must clearly articulate the imminent likelihood of harmful behavior that would rise to the level of a crime, or that a crime has been committed.
(according to the law of most States and some State laws may vary in the burden of proof areas)

Was this some form of download, or provided to you by a lawyer/legal aid service?

I find myself wondering how many women will copy this into their laptops when they see it?

Sorry for your situation and I hope things resolve in a mostly peaceful manner.
@HikingMan this is just an initial letter from me to him to get him out of the house.. This isn't legal, if he won't play nice, I will do that
HikingMan · 56-60, M
@AbsolutelyFabulous If it's already sent, then it's already sent. If not I'd suggest reading my now edited and finished reply just in case.

The letter on it's own and by itself stands a chance of backfiring and turning the entire situation into a powder keg, depending on your husband's disposition and demeanor.

I wish you all the best going forward.
@HikingMan it can't backfire... He can either play nice and leave peacefully or enjoy life behind bars
Sapio · 51-55, M
Fantastic letter, establishes clear boundaries.
@Sapio thank you, but he still rang me to tell me in a threatening way that he's getting a solicitor 😅😑
I hope this goes as smoothly as possible for you. Stay safe and strong.
@NudasPriest thank you
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
Failte
Such a sad situation and seemingly agressive to a certain point too

I hope he leaves very soon
@Strictmichael75 yup... He's extremely dangerous and crazy
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
@Strictmichael75 Make sure you have some friends around when he gets back

Do you have a baby cam?
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
@AbsolutelyFabulous You should inform the Gardi in advance
MrSmartyPants · 46-50, M
Let there be something said to Legal assistance before having that be read to him, and I wish you a smooth transition from this.
Please stay safe and do seek out the advice of a solicitor. You need to be as prepared and legally educated as you possibly can. Wishing you all the very best. 🫂
@Chern0bylplaygr0unds he's away until Wednesday
Jonjdw · 51-55, M
OK, I see you. Correction, you sent it to him. I assume this is not gonna go over well with him.
