Divorce: do I need a lawyer if we have no assets or kids?

So far I know I'll have to wait out the year separated before I can have it done. I rent. He rents. No kids. We have our own vehicles and split the household stuff when he moved out. I just want this done as cheaply and quickly as possible.

Have to be careful if you do talk to a lawyer. There's some that will try to convince you to make it a battle for their own personal gain even if you have nothing to fight over.
