Point Systems, Demerits, & Rules — Yay or Nay?

Love it! We use a system (points, demerits, tokens) and it works great.
Tried it, but... It became a hassle to track or didn't last long.
Not for us. We prefer direct conversations or immediate, non-point consequences.

Families handle behavior tracking in all kinds of ways—demerit points, privilege tokens, or good old-fashioned verbal warnings.
Immediate Action: We still handle standard, on-the-spot consequences when something happens right then and there.
The 7-Day Rule: On top of that, racking up 3 or more demerits within any rolling 7-day window triggers an additional automatic consequence or lost privilege.
How We Track It: Anyone with calendar access can add a demerit instantly, but it MUST include a written reason to officially count.
Why It Works: It makes tracking effortless, keeps long-term accountability high, and resets fast enough that no one stays stuck in "trouble" forever.
