How did you think babies were made when you were little?

I knew that they grew inside a woman's belly. But I don't think I wondered about how they got there. I figured it "just happened."

Eventually, I heard a kid down the block explaining how pregnancy occurred, and I didn't believe him. I mean, really now. That crazy story sounds just like the kind of far-fetched silliness that an 11-year-old would make up, right?

Mom told me about the birds and the bees but then I got stung when playing in the backyard and for two months was afraid I was pregnant

I think the stork brought them from what I can remember

I got first hand experience.

I never gave it any consideration. It just wasn't relevant. Babies were something that parents had. That's all I needed to know.

Mom told me if you kissed a boy, you would have a baby.

My grandfather used to tease ALL his little grand daughters, and would tell us NOT to swallow any watermelon seeds, because then a watermelon would grow in our tummies...🤣🤣🤣

My brother told me that my mother was out walking in the field one day, and stubbed her toe on a cow flop...heard a funny sound...kicked it over...and found ME underneath!

But all the cartoons on television at the time told us that the stork delivered babies...🤣🤣🤣

I never believed in the stork or anything; I remember knowing from a young age that the baby was formerly inside the mother, but I didn't think about how the baby got there. 🤔

I was convinced for way too long that babys came out of mommys bum.

I thought the hospital kept them there and people went and chose one

Thé weird thing is I was never curious about it. 🤔

I thought Dr Frankenstein made them.

I don't recall ever thinking about. But I certainly knew the basic mechanism by the time I was nine or ten and playing doctors and nurses out in the fields with the girls from next door.

I knew they cam from the mother because I saw pictures of my mother when she was very pregnant with me

not joking. that is genuinely what lil me was told by my parents who clearly weren't ready to tell me the real story

A bearded fellow got them in a basket from the far off mountains crossing floods!
I still smiled getting that imagery, while typing.

Mom told me if you get married then you would have a baby but I wasn't convinced of her answer and used to ask how 😁

I don't recall not knowing the correct method. Maybe not all the details, but I was a rather pragmatic child.

Never even thought of it until late teens.

I've always known that you find them under trees.

I think I assumed my mother picked up my middle sister and brother at the hospital. I was 14 when our youngest sister was born, so of course by then I understood.

At the baby factory of course!

I knew the basics, if not the specifics by the time I ever thought about it. Always had a lot of animals around so knowing where baby animals came from was just extended to where human babies came from.

I thought Disney's Dumbo amongst other baby animals, being delivered by a stork was correct, then I thought all females were born with eggs already fertilised inside them and were born with water. Clearly why some females didn't have babies regardless of adding water to them, didn't occur to me at that time. 🤨

I didn't think about such things when I was little. Now that I'm not little I often think of baby making only being enjoyable when no actual baby is being made.

It wasn't something I even pondered

I don't remember, not even sure if I cared about it when I was real little.
