Not that anyone cares but im going to force this on yous anyways

My midwife said the reason my sciatica is so bad and im so debilitated is because the baby is positioned against my spine 😫 she said shes refer me to a specialist for physical therapy or something but by the time id get my first appointment with them the baby will probably be here already. I should have mentioned this sooner and not at 36 weeks but i was trying not to be a complainer.

Sciatica is supposed to be incredibly painful. My mother had it when she was pregnant with me and I don't think she ever forgave me.......😉.

You go on, complain if you like! ♥️
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@Fluffybull thanks lol its brutal. Luckily i started my maternity leave earlier so i can rest
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Fluffybull I have had sciatica several periods of time and last time for 3 months after picking up a 40-pack of water. I hope you get some relief for it. The only time I wasn’t hurting bad was laying in a very comfortable recliner chair…could not get comfortable in any way sleeping in my bed.
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
No, be a complainer. If something doesn’t feel right, you let the professionals know. Even if they say “oh that’s just pregnancy pain”, trust your instincts. I wish I had done this, with my last pregnancy, and now I’m disabled. It’s difficult for me to do simple tasks. And the things I used to be able to do, I can’t anymore. My so called “pregnancy pain” never went away, and it never will.

@NaturalBeautyQueen omg so sorry, what happened 😢
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
@DarkSideoftheMoon thank you! Really take care of yourself. You’ll need your strength when the baby comes.

When I had sciatica I noticed some days were worse than others. Figured it out. The days I had no bananas to eat my pain was worse. When I got bananas the pain lessened. I was hurting so bad most days I didn’t want to leave the house. I did an online search about bananas and there is indications that they have a natural painkiller effect. Maybe not like opiates but it was a noticeable difference and I can’t take any OTC or prescriptions.
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@cherokeepatti omg thanks ill try having a banana everyday. I know if i dont have rhem i get Charlie horses in my legs.
Barny52 · 56-60, M
Poor girl so sorry you have my sympathy had it for years and now how your feeling
Barny52 · 56-60, M
@DarkSideoftheMoon one exercise pressure point that I was told about was push your finger in middle of bum cheek on the side it hurts until you find sciatic nerve, it’s deep and takes some finding and you can stretch the nerve, I found that helped a little bit ! I had it for 10 years then I had a bad fall and not had it since, amazing
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@Barny52 wow ! Was the rest of you okay ? Ill try that, thanks 😊
Barny52 · 56-60, M
@DarkSideoftheMoon no snapped the big muscle in thigh i had lost feelings in one leg due to bad back but it sorted sciatic out !! Good luck with yours
I hope you fond relief soon, and that your baby is happy and healthy.

I had to get my baby adjusted to a different position twice by the chiropractor. She was sideways and then went back sideways after we thought she been spun head down.

It didn't work well for me but I think it was at 38 weeks you can get acupuncture to induce.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@DarkSideoftheMoon unfortunately I did, but she was head down. She had the cord around her neck 3 times she flipped around so much.
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@Starcrossed bless her ❤️ hiw was your recovery?
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@DarkSideoftheMoon eh... slow. It took all the 8 weeks I had off and I was still sore. It was my first surgery in my adult life and my recovery wasnt as easy as I had hoped or anticipated. I had some bad PPD/PPA, struggled with nursing and baby daddy was not a great partner the first few years of her life.

I wish I could look back with more joy but was kind of a dark time in my life. I feel in part my kid and I were robbed of some of our bonding experiences in the earliest years. My negative experience with her dad is why she doesn't have a sibling.

I can say one positive birth thing, I had bad SPD the last trimester and that went away immediately when she was born just like they said it would.

Try icy hot cream from Walmart. It smells bad, but it doesn't upset your stomach.
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
Owwwwww!!! 😨
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@thepreposterouspanda yes exactly 💯
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
Good luck with the baby...
It's better to know the cause, this way they can take it into consideration for the labour...

🤗
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@Mellowgirl yeah true. She said labour will be bad if baby doesnt move. Im like oh great, put me down for an epidermal then
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@DarkSideoftheMoon hmm I'd say decide sooner rather than later as if you dont it will be too late and they will make the decision so not to distress the little one
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@Mellowgirl i put it in my birth plan that if labour goes on too long id want an epidermal but to be honest i really dont want one unless im going to die from pain or pass out from the pain. Q needle in my spine sounds horrible
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
Hang tight… so close to the finish line
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
@UnderLockDown it’s a thing haha…
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@WaryWitchWandering no forceps or csection? Im scared they will want to use forceps
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
@DarkSideoftheMoon no… but I tore in a very poor fashion haha
Bang5luts · M
Please listen to me. I know a 26 year old that has develomental disabilities due to complications with his birth, his mother had a midwife deliver the baby and due to her inexperience and her negligence this 26 year old with be disabled the entirety of his life. Please look in to seeing an obstetrician..
DarkSideoftheMoon · 31-35, F
@Bang5luts im in the UK and its midwife led unless i have a high risk pregnancy. Im from the US and i know back home we have obstetricians and i was a bit worried about that here but ill be in a hospital with doctors near by
