I have never depended on formula for my babies. I just didn't trust it as much as breast milk,

@samueltyler2 A true born again Christian loves people and know that the Jews are Gods chosen people before Jesus came. One of my best friends is Jewish. There are a lot of people who kill people and say they do it for God. They are [i]not [/i]born again Christians. No people have been persecuted and been murdered more than Christians, 300 a day every day around the world.

@Dewkissedrose that happens to a few babies, arguably less than are called that and placed on special formulas. But, you are correct some babies can not be successfully breast fed, and most not for the full recommended full year, for either medical or work needs of a mother. The formula industry did a great job in "addicting" the America society to use their formulas, limited the competition and produced the current disaster.

Not to sound political, but, the current crisis was predictable not on politics but on market forces unchecked in our society! Blaming it on current POTUS denies the role of every POTUS and Congress in the past for not having more foresight to plan for just such a crisis!

@Dewkissedrose Right and most of the times adults don't even know, I was screaming as a baby constantly and that's because of lactose intolerance.

@Carazaa I'm white and if I was a baby and you kept feeding me milk, it would have been very bad. I also know a lot of other white people who are lactose intolerant. Keep in mind that you can be lactose intolerant without knowing it. I as a child screamed a lot until my mother figured out that it was the milk. As an adult, you can have fevers, be bloated and have other symptoms that you don't count as lactose intolerance but is in fact intolerance. Just because you're intolerant doesn't mean you "can't" have milk but the point is, is that it's a gamble if not all children can have that, your "formula" doesn't work.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout People who are vegan need to eat protein every day whether they breast feed or not to be healthy. It sounds like she thought of you and wanted to be sure you got enough protein. I personally didn't think it was tiring to breast feed at all. I eat plenty of fish (pickle herring every day infact) And children who are old enough for solids need to eat fish every week to get enough omega 3. 🙂

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout That was wise actually, a vegan mom tried breast feeding her child and doing right, the child ended up dying because there wasn't enough nutrients in the milk.

@Lilnonames My grandma cooked up milk, water, and flour to a porridge for grandpa for breakfast even in his old age, he liked that for breakfast and had that since a child, what a baby 😂
