I have never depended on formula for my babies. I just didn't trust it as much as breast milk,

What did fathers do when Mom died in childbirth before formula were invented? They fed babies cows milk drenched in a clean cloth. Cow milk can be watered down and mixed with a little wheat flour. Milk has natural proteins, Vitamin A, B-2. B-3 Niacin, B-12, potassium, magnesium. And warming milk water and a little flour makes a sweet thick formula a complete meal.

Some babies are lactose intolerant or intolerant to other milk proteins. It's far more likely that back then if a baby had an allergy they just died.

@SatanBurger Maybe in some countries but it is very rare where I am from, Sweden.

@Carazaa Rare doesn't have anything to do with anything, not all children can digest milk, it's a fact.
Carazaa · F
@SatanBurger It is very rare in Europe, but I hear you!

@Carazaa Being rare has no bearing on if a child is lactose intolerant or not, babies die from mothers making their own formula but stupid is as stupid does.

Rare doesn't have anything to do with anything? Yes it does I am sorry for those who have this condition it is just not common where I come from. But thank you for educating me about that 🙂

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, lactose intolerance is more common in Asian Americans, African Americans, Mexican Americans, and Native Americans. Analysis of the DNA of 94 ancient skeletons in Europe and Russia concluded that the mutation for lactose tolerance appeared about 4,300 years ago and spread throughout the European population.
Causes: Decreased ability to digest lactose (genetic, small intestine injury)
Symptoms: Abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, flatulence, nausea
Treatment: Decreasing lactose in the diet, lactase supplements, treat the underlying cause
Usual onset: 30–120 min after dairy products

@Carazaa I'm white and if I was a baby and you kept feeding me milk, it would have been very bad. I also know a lot of other white people who are lactose intolerant. Keep in mind that you can be lactose intolerant without knowing it. I as a child screamed a lot until my mother figured out that it was the milk. As an adult, you can have fevers, be bloated and have other symptoms that you don't count as lactose intolerance but is in fact intolerance. Just because you're intolerant doesn't mean you "can't" have milk but the point is, is that it's a gamble if not all children can have that, your "formula" doesn't work.
