Why don't more people adopt :\

Matt85 · 36-40, M
i wouldn't mind if it was illegal to breed dogs when shelters are full
I would assume it's because you don't know what you're getting with adoption, and there can be a bad connection with adoption.

I know of a decent number of adoptions that went perfectly and the kids and parents turned out to be great.

But I also know of a case where a family adopted three brothers... whom came from a druggie mother, whom had a bunch of bad bfs.

After the adoption, they found 2 of the 3 had major issues with violence tendencies

Many reasons. It could be money but some people spend more at fertility clinics etc.. Some people don't think biological children are the only way. It can be difficult. We adopted our daughter from China and it was a long process and you had to jump through some hoops.

It's very expensive and not easy to do. When I thought I couldn't have kids my ex and I looked into it. We were so sad it wasn't an option for us because there was no way we could afford it.

It's too cost prohibitive.

A bigger question should be, why aren't more people involved in the foster care system?
I’ve actually filled in the paperwork for Notsimilarreally and am waiting to hear back

As a man, my primal instinct is to get women pregnant... and spread my dna... so theres that

It's complicated - which really makes sense

@fun4us2b We had to get a criminal background check, a social worker visit us for a couple of months, proof that we earned enough money etc.. but anyone can get someone pregnant lol
