That you can't shelter them from pain and watching them hurting is worse than hurting yourself.

Worrying about your children.

No matter how old they are, the worrying about them never ends.

When ANYTHING happens to my son...anything at all. I am paralyzed with fear that I will lose him. I don't know how YOU dealt with it at all. I am tearing up just thinking about you losing YOUR son...or me losing my son...even though he is a big, huge, distinguished looking MAN.
Worry about them. Guilt about mistakes you’ve made. Money to give them the best you can.

The worry when they go by themselves somewhere with their friends, forgetting to call mom when they are out late.
But you still worry when they are an adult and they choose the wrong person. That to me is the hardest thing...bad choices.

@Blondily I used to get on my bike and ride a mile to a friend's house and play all day

Just had to be home by dark...

It was a different world for sure
I still see her as a baby but she is becoming more independent cause she's almost a teen and that's being a challenge for me..

I suppose every parent would have a different answer for that.
I don't think there's any perfect parents so realizing you did something to hurt them would be one of the worst.
And the second one ,for me, is when they grow up they refuse to forgive you for those failures.

24/7 responsibility in the early years

probably all the stress and misfortunate and negative aspects of life one can't control 💔

Not a parent.

My friends who are parents loathe their in-laws. The constant criticisms, unsolicited advice and passive aggressiveness from in-laws drives them insane.
