If I LOOKED at other people's shopping carts, (which I don't), I would try NOT to be too judgy.
BUT I will say that I often SEE what the person in front of me in line is buying because it is all spread out on the conveyer belt... and if I see that they are buying sugary drinks, bottled water, ONE huge package of meat, candy bars, no fruit or veggies, and loads of chips and snacks with their Food Stamps card...I MIGHT suspect that they are stupid.

@4meAndyou Before I retired I stopped consuming canned soups and started making soup from scratch. So much better. Not sure if it is cheaper but the flavor and lack of msg makes up for that.
4meAndyou · F
@cherokeepatti I still remember that you used to buy mushrooms on sale to make your own cream of mushroom soup! I'll bet that was amazing, as was your homemade tomato soup made from TOMATOES on sale!
I'm logging off. Have to go take care of this headache. Talk later!

@4meAndyou Yes I still do when I feel like cooking. I was cooking from scratch at the car lot for lunch when I worked there. It was good food. Made salsa in a pint jar attached to the blender for example.

Many a private healthcare company certainly would if they have access to your choices.
This is why you should probably bin your store loyalty cards.
Just more data they can sell about you.

@Picklebobble2 Good point!
Indeed, they have more than enough data about us!

@Picklebobble2 Store loyalty cards were used for that purpose in the USA. The information was sold to some health insurance companies to help them determine the food, alcohol, and tobacco habits of people who were applying for health insurance. No telling what else that information was used for. Perhaps car insurance price calculation. There was an expose on this more than a decade ago. I was never crazy for using those cards suspecting what they would be used for. Imagine being turned down for health insurance based on foods, alcohol or tobacco that was purchased for someone else in your household or even an employer. And that information being used against you as though you were consuming all that stuff…donuts, cakes or other sweets for a work party, beer and cigarettes because your boss likes to keep it stocked up etc.

Dirty tomato eaters..

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout There's nothing worse than a dirty tomato!

No, food does not define a person's character. Both good and bad people have a wide variety of preferences, and budgets to shop with.
Nimbus · M
@AbbeyRhode I would hope so ;)
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
I only judge vegans
Nimbus · M
@Justmeraeagain Does that make it more difficult?
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@Nimbus No 🤪
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
I try not to. But seeing someone who is a wheelchair, had a leg amputated (Diabetes) and the other leg is turning black who fills up a cart with junk foods, soft drinks etc and nothing healthy makes me wonder how much self-control they have.
Nimbus · M
@cherokeepatti That's sad to hear.
It's like they have just given up :(

@Chern0bylplaygr0unds Sounds like a good list for next week, thanks ;)
Nope but I’d be willing to bet that shopper has OCD.
Nimbus · M
@OlderSometimesWiser The bananas are a bit suspicious?
@Nimbus That whole cart is a bit suspicious.
No. But I'd probably side eye people who do based on stuff like that. 🤨
Nimbus · M
@DancingStarGoddess lol, I think we al do 😛
Musicman · 61-69, M
No you can't. I have gone to the grocery store before a couple of times just for treats and goodies. Made it look like I was a junk food junkie.
OutoftheGloom · 46-50, F
Based on those absolutely enormous bananas I'd say they have unaddressed needs 🤣
Nimbus · M
@OutoftheGloom And I thought I was the only one to have noticed ;)
