Sometimes it's from an act of kindness, like saving a mocking bird nest from a snake. They were quite friendly after that.😆
Throwing them bugs and other tasty morsels when I'm working in the garden has them convinced that I can just make tasty treats appear from thin air.
I might be a bit gifted.😇 Not to boast, but I have the only cats, ever, that have come to an agreement and live peacefully in the same area with the mocking birds and there are no casualties.😸😸🤗 The birds perch just feet away, no dive bombing, no alarms.
I had the wild rabbits trained for a while, but after I got Mamakitty that kind of fell away, very abruptly.😼

@UnderLockDown We have seagull and pigeon magnets ALMOST as talented at drawing the birds as the gentleman above. They hang out near the boat landing on the harbor, and they bring popcorn and bread crumbs with them every day. One woman even has a pigeon that will land on the edge of her open car window and eat from her hand!!!!
