When you were a kid, did you have a store bought costume, or did you make it yourself?

As a kid I had a store bought when younger but after that a BUM,my Dads hat and coat and some kinda greyish chalk

The only pic I have of me with Halloween make-up as a kid is such a confusing one because what was I even supposed to be? Some kinda 60's variation of a vampire? The afro wig was giving 60's disco, the make-up was giving twilight.

I always wished we could make our own or at least choose our own costume haha.

Mickey Mouse from the five and dime...could barely breath...I was 5

One year me and my friend sewed our own costumes, we were pigs 😄

I dont remember any costumes from my childhood i do know that i had some but i just cannot remember what they were. They were store bought i do know that.

My mum was no seamstress but she did occasionally get sowing machine out. She made my brothers Dipsy outfit when he dressed as Dipsy from the telebubies and his green furry coat. Our clothes were mostly bought but she did have fun making outfits sometimes.

I made up costumes from stuff I already had. I got into trouble once when I made a costume and made a cloak to go over the top.. Turned out it was one of a pair of curtains Mum had just bought....

I never had the chance to wear a halloween costume when I was a kid.

Store bought, buttery’s grocery store. Unless mom and dad didn’t have any money and then It was whatever with a bunch of face makeup.

My parents were making it. I never had a store bought costume and used to take pride in it. 😆

I once made a robot out of a shoe box as my to display In my 3rd grade.
