Food Prices

I been seeing this for a while notice the prices of food at the supermarket seems to go up every couple months or the size of the product is smaller? I mean 200 bucks for a week for groceries isnt much anymore for 2 people and that used to be alot. My son likes the brand named frozen foods and 1 good frozen meal is like 10+ bucks. Not looking good for the future for the middle class just saying.
.
What u guys think?

It has a lot to do with the tariffs Trump has implemented in certain countries. Like coffee prices have gone up due to the tariffs placed on Colombia. In fact, I went to the store recently and a bag of coffee was almost 20 dollars. Just an example of where we are at in the world

Yep. Both inflation and "shrinkflation" where they reduce the size of packign while keeping the same price or even increasing it.

They want to make a profit and every time they have to charge more because of cost of production, they will add a little bit extra to increase profit margins.

We're being ripped off.

Yes it's getting to the point I am wondering how little I can live off for how long safely. It's just too freaking expensive. I am trying to make smart cheap choices but it's hard when also trying to eat healthy as well.
@SlippingAway Really need to grow your own. It will be the only way in the future.
Can expect exponential price rises with Rump's policies. First he deports all the farm workers (cheap labour), then he puts tariffs on countries supplying cheaper goods like Canada forcing factories to open in USA, which means everyone will be paid a liveable wage, including those farm workers, so now food prices go way up, and the companies that process and package them have to raise their prices as all the materials used to pack and ship go way up.. wood, steel, aluminum, all tariffed.. prices going up and up. By the time it gets to grocery store the value has increased many times. The stores have to make enough money to pay their expensive staff too.
Nothing going forward will be cheaper, or better, just more people falling into poverty.
The US wanted this, they voted the maniac in.

@JamesBugman thankyou for saying this. So much is the new reality of a lunatic Despot playing with people for personal gains and the enrichment of his group of .........that always benefit him while flying under a flag of great white morality which disregards any shred of decency towards humanity. And people believe outright bold faced lies simply because it has become the norm and doesn't seem to even matter anymore

Absolutely!! And I noticed gas prices went up 10 cents in 1 day last week.

You are 💯% right.
I agree. It's getting worse
Several months ago I bought ONE bag of groceries and it was $100 😂 I admit it had liquor included but still.
When I saw polls making trump look like he knew anything about the economy just convinced me that right wing propoganda lead on the move. trump knows absolutely NOTHING about the economy besides defrauding others on crypto.

Yeah they call it shrinkflation

@Reason10 Meat, dairy, produce, fuel. Its all gone up. Sorry but it its all more for less compaired to even last summer
@Reason10 The price of eggs was directly related to the bird flu, which has zero to do with Mr. Biden. You watch, this time next year it will hit again and eggs with jump to $15.
