Curiously my great grandmother had her first child at eighteen and her last of twelve at forty two. I remember them as elderly aunts and uncles. My grandmother who I saw briefly at 67, had her first child at 18 too. You never think of them as being young once, and starting early.

As the kids say, that's when they should begin "adulting".
While I was certainly more carefree in my 20s than now, I would not have been able to get away with not doing housework, even as a teenager.
20s is young adult, not a child, time to step up with the responsibilities.

I think they're at that stage between still kids and young adults really. SoI think it's in between, science shows your brain matures later with the prefrontol cortex developing last. This isn't to say they can't do house work though, that's something even kids maybe should do or at least wash dishes or take out the garbage. I don't have children but if I did, they'd at least have some chores but maybe not a lot.
@SatanBurger they have house help when they are home so they are so used just doing their stuff

It sounds as if you've been having "a vacation to remember", for all the wrong reasons!

@BloviatingBuffoon Ok then...I think I'll just...move this chair back a bit
[Without taking his eyes off you, slowly gets up, gets behind the chair, moves it back...3'...5'...10'... Seeing it's hard to do more as he quickly glances back, he dits down, heavily, his shoulders showing defeat]
Is this...ok?

At my age, I’ll sometimes refer to 20-something’s as “kids”, but it doesn’t mean I expect them to act like children.

They should offer to help. Vacation or not
@Shybutwilling2bfriends thing is, since i am the “newest” i should be the one doing. I didnt spend my life being a doctor to clean up after them. Their mom has to…

No way. Formally we consider this to be the age of reason for some.
But based on society's views, you are technically an adult.

they are old enough to carry a gun and risk their life in the military
they are old enough to vote
they aren't kids
BUT if they think they are - maybe they should sit at the "kid's table"

JackDaniels · 46-50, M
Nope, should be at least cleaning their own spaces and helping with chores. Going to be lazy when on their own.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
If you're old enough to ride a bike without training wheels, you're old enough for chores.
Are we talking emotionally or legally?

No, at their age, they should be seriously into their adultery 🤭 I mean adulthood.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
No, they're adults, just slow cause their brains are underdeveloped. They can work.
If they do a good job - extra gruel!
