I do . Sorry to hear your relationship with your father is so bad.

Yes the best. We never had any money but they did the best they could at every stage and I do my best to support them in their old age.

My childhood was impossibly idyllic. It’s makes most of adulthood look like a sham.

I do, thankfully. But I get it if someone doesn’t have a good relationship with their own. My boyfriend has zero contact with his own family.

Most of my family members are gone now. Thankfully, for one or two of them.

Mine no, but my partners Yes

I don't have much of a relationship with them at all anymore. I was always the black sheep of the family and that rift has just gotten more pronounced the older I've gotten.

@SlippingAway I definitely feel you on the dysfunctional part of it. They took us to a religious college campus when I was 9 and my youngest brother was 2 and put me in charge of all three of them.
@thepeculiarpanda yikes I am sorry you had to deal with that
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
@SlippingAway I definitely don't think I would have chosen it for myself but it could also definitely have been worse. :) I wish they had taken better care of our health along the way though, I ended up disabled at 22 likely because of some of the things they ignored along the way.

Life is such a crazy ride!

I have an ok relationship with mine..

My parents have both passed away. I was a only child. As for relatives, no. They don't want to socialize with my wife and I.
4meAndyou · F
@Musicman That's not entirely true anymore. As I recall, ONE of your relatives has changed their mind about you.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@4meAndyou That's true, but we only see each other once a year and we don't talk in between.
