There are many children out there that need a good living home it's hard to adopt where I live if you're single. You could start off by foster care fostering a couple of kids to show that you're good at it. And some of them occasionally you can ready for adoption.

I have a single male friend who adopted his nephew. The child's mother did not want to be a parent. My friend is doing a great job raising his adopted son.

As long as you are financially and emotionally secure, go for it. I have a friend who adopted a girl on her own. She is a better parent than most two parent homes.

@Browneyesarebest79 That’s good to hear! I'm happy for you friend! I'm working on my financial goals since I changed career. Planning to do thing 2-3 years from now, so I really have to build up my own life first.

Be carful what child it is. You don't want the child of junkies and street thugs. I've seen that go very wrong.
