Is it weird that sometimes I feel a disconnect from my parents when I meet them? I have been married for 2 years.

No hard feelings and only love and gratitude for the most part. But there is a disconnect and I feel closest to my husband... and a little distant from my parents who loved me endlessly for 28 years.

Just means you're in love with your husband.
You still have plenty of love for them, only the relationship has changed, as it will.

That's the natural reaction of being in love with and married to your husband. You have started a new path, and while you still love your parents; you have a new and different life that is apart from them. What you're feeling is what you should be feeling.

I was kinda the same way. It was temporary.

I have a huge disconnect from my mom. Dad passed when i was 19, but we werent very close.

I didnt get enough love and effection from them i think so thats why im distant.

This is only natural. I love my Mom to death but I can't live without my husband now. Having said that, nobody can place of my Mom in my life.

my parents passed away recently. they were young (mid 60s) i never got along with them. my sister went to grief counselling and learned our parents were textbook narcissist's. makes perfect sense looking back. i wasn't the crazy one after all....
