How do you feel after meditation?

I only did it once and I was too afraid to ever try it again, because I felt like I lost my mind. I didn’t feel real. I looked it up and what I experienced is called depersonalized and it’s a very scary feeling. Idk if this is normal and I was supposed to feel this way.

I can’t do sitting meditation for long because I get tired and my body aches real quick, but I like to do short sessions to clear my mind when my head is feeling a certain way. My nature walks are quite meditative as I only focus on walking and observing my environment.

Meditation does help me a ton when I’m in turmoil. I used to get brain fogs and headaches daily due to my self-diagnosed depression lol, but a quick session erases everything and then I become calm and relaxed. No fear, sadness, anger or anything. Nothing but peace.

I've never been able to do it. Maybe I don't try hard enough. I only noticed a slight change in breathing when attempting to not think of anything and it made me feel good.

@PhoenixPhail Sadly, it's just for a moment and it quickly disappears.
@CrazyMusicLover It's fine that the feeling is fleeting. Just having the feeling will allow you to find it easier the next time. The effect is accumulative.
@CrazyMusicLover the key is accepting the thoughts whatever comes to your mind. Key guidance meditation works alot.

The current definition of meditation is very different from the original.

The current def is to empty your mind of everything, which is why you felt like you lost your mind. Glad you didn't like that, that could lead to insanity. Seriously.

The original and true definition of meditation is to contemplate deeply some thought that could, and should, change your life. Turn it over in your mind, consider all the angles you can. You won't lose your mind doing that.

I like to meditate as well, it provides answers to my spiritual questions.
You succeeded at meditating. The whole idea IS to lose your mind - to get it completely out of the way to allow the Self that is NOT your mind to connect with Source Energy.

I wish I could lose my mind more often in meditation.

Maybe you were trying too hard. I don't know. Learning to meditate is a slow process. It's more boring than scary. Was someone coaching you? Take a class! It really does make a difference!
It's amazing and can do alot if you practice it daily. But honestly you need to do it under guidance and learn it from mentors.

I've tried many times. I do enjoy it, I just can't seem to do it on a regular basis. It relaxes your entire body.
