To keep you on your toes...the next question is the REAL question!
Nimbus · M
@FloorGenAdm Good thinking! :)

LilPrincess · 41-45, F
Im a scorpio...not sure if i would be hired or fired 😒
Nimbus · M
@LilPrincess Me neither.
Doesn't seem to be any rules.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@LilPrincess Add me to the Scorpio list ✋
IM5688 · 61-69, M
Well, certain zodiac signs are known for certain characteristics or personality traits, for example Scorpio's are known to be secretive, creative and stubborn. Putting two certain signs together could be a mistake. So I could see asking that if the person asking is really into horoscopes, etc.
So, I suppose it could be applicable to ask.
IM5688 · 61-69, M
@NativePortlander1970 Asking someone their sign IMO, would not be a personal question on an interview as usually your birth date is already on your application.
@IM5688 Trust me, as a former food service and retail manager that interviewed and hired people for employment, asking someone their zodiac is considered a personal question and is therefore considered illegal.
Nimbus · M
@IM5688 Interesting 👍
Umile · 41-45, F
Maybe for a job in the field dealing with Horoscope.

Tarot Card Reader.

But.

In most jobs, no.
Nimbus · M
@Umile Yes, that would fit.
sladejr · 56-60, M
That would get me, the applicant, running for the door
Nimbus · M
@sladejr 👍
AbbeyRhode · F
It's probably considered racist these days. 🙄
Nimbus · M
@AbbeyRhode Good point 👍
nedkelly · 61-69, M
It would make the applicant think very quickly - as he did put down his previous hobby was shooting

the Zodiac Killer
Nimbus · M
@nedkelly Who he?
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@Nimbus The Zodiac Killer is the pseudonym of an unidentified serial killer who operated in Northern California in the late 1960s. The Zodiac murdered five known victims in the San Francisco Bay Area between December 1968 and October 1969, operating in rural, urban and suburban settings.
Does the job interviewer have a Guardian newspaper on the table? Are they wearing a 'be kind' badge? 🤭
Nimbus · M
@BritishFailedAesthetic Not really knowing the 'left' from the 'right' ? ;)
Adrift · 61-69, F
I would point to the birthdate on my application so they could figure it out for themselves.
Nimbus · M
@Adrift Exactly.
craig7 · 70-79, M
No - but the candidate's date of birth indicates the sign anyway.
Nimbus · M
@craig7 👍
PleasurePunch · 100+
@craig7 The employer wants the candidate to think the company is hip and new-agey.
Zaphod42 · 46-50, M
Only if the appropriate answer is “What’s my sign? Stop.”
Nimbus · M
@Zaphod42 Spot on ;)
Dont have one.. does the company issue that? 🤔
Nimbus · M
PleasurePunch · 100+
easier to answer than "whats your excuse"?

lol!
Nimbus · M
@PleasurePunch Good point :)
MasterLee · 56-60, M

Nimbus · M
@smiler2012 Who is this 'Sundry' you speak of ?
A new forward to replace the out of date Salah or the defunct Kloppy?
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
If they have your date of birth on your application they'll know it already.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@NativePortlander1970 Or maybe they're asking just to see if your choice of answer complies with the data you already gave them.

@Picklebobble2 Should do but is often overlooked.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
An interviewer can ask me anything they like. I would either not answer questions I thought were not relevant or ask for the purpose behind the question.
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
Why DOB matters when you will be seeing them face to face, wait we don't add DOB in the resume right?
@Donotfolowme DOB matters mainly for tax and liability insurance purposes in food service and retail.
yes, they all have to be compatible
