No. With all the medications I take, and the chip in my head, is hate to think of how they'd affect someone else.

ninalanyon · 61-69, T
No need. In Norway the presumption is that unless you have made it clear that you do not agree then the donation can proceed after the nearest relatives have been consulted. If any one of the nearest refuse then the donation cannot proceed. If there are no near relatives then the donation cannot proceed either.

You only need to carry an organ donor card or register your wishes if you want to make sure that your relatives cannot overturn your decision.
Nimbus · M
@ninalanyon That's interesting 👍
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@Nimbus Here are the rules. In Norwegian of course but Google Translate usually works

No. But I can drop my wife off any place at short notice...😷
Nimbus · M
@whowasthatmaskedman I'm guessing she is not a SW member ;)
SlaveEt · 36-40, F
In the USA it is usually an icon on the drivers license or ID card. I personally don't have that on mine. In the event I end up a Jane Doe, I don't trust the powers that be not to harvest my organs before I am truly done for. I hope I'm paranoid but I don't think I am🤷‍♀️
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Nope. It’s a money maker for the medical industry is why. I’d hate to have someone make the decision for me to live or die based on demand for an organ they could harvest from my body. See the movie COMA or read the book. It’s damned creepy.
Musicman · 61-69, M
Definitely NOT!!!!! They actually harvest the organs minutes before you die.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Nimbus Nooooo! They get consent. Some people in advance give consent to organ donning.
Nimbus · M
@Musicman Oh good! :)

No but it's on my drivers license.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
Yes, for organs when I die, but in Australia you still need next of kin to approve

Yes, for any suitable lady as well - different organ
Nimbus · M
@nedkelly Good on ya! :)

nedkelly · 61-69, M
@Nimbus I cannot give it away
RubySoo · 56-60, F
Yes. I have for years. A couple of ( extended) family members had organ transplants. One successfully, one not.
I've carried a donor card since...over 30 years.
Nimbus · M

I used to.
When it was a simple tick of the box when renewing my licence..
now you gotta do paper work and jump thru hoops… so I guess I don’t donate organs when I die now..
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Reminds me of that monty python skit.

They come for his organs while he is still using it.
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
No because it’s a symbol on my DL
SW-User
@Jeephikelove same here. It’s a little heart lol
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
It's on my driver's license, OD
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
Since May 2020 all adults in England are considered to have agreed to become an organ donor when they die unless they have recorded a decision not to donate or are in an excluded group. So I no longer carry a card. It's still nice to positively affirm your donation though 👍
redredred · M
It’s coded on my drivers license
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
It's on my drivers license 🪪
TheOthetAcc · 36-40, M

No. Celebrities and the rich go to the top of the list in this state. No way in hell am I helping them.
Torsten · 36-40, M
nope because my organs are reserved for my kid if he was to ever need any
Do we still have to do that?

Thought we had to opt out.
Perhaps it’s a Welsh thing.
I can't even give blood so I doubt they want my organs
Of course! Why? To get liberal 'chicks'. 🙄🙄🙄

😂
RenFur · 70-79, M
I'm a '48 Studebaker. No one needs my parts...
darkmere1983 · 46-50, M

Elanor · F

Everybody on the donor list unless will fully decline otherwise
Nimbus · M
@Elanor 👍
As soon as I found out just how bad cancer runs in my family I had to take my name off the list, they were glad I did.
