Did you lose any family like a parent or loved one during the pandemic?

My mother passed away (though not from Covid-19) recently.
Jstbanannas1991 · 31-35, F
I lost my dad to cancer during the pandemic and then two weeks after the funeral my uncle died of Covid.

A cousin wo was sleeping in a skip bin and was squished in the back of a garbage truck. He was 13.

hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
I had several who passed away from natural causes such as old age. No one I know died from covid but 5 people I knew died from the vax. Including a brother in law, a cousin and a cousin in law. The other two were neighbors or went to my church.

Sorry to hear about your Mom. Both my parents passed recently as well.

A few family members had mild to moderate cases of Covid, but I don't personally know anyone who died of it.
My dad died right before the shutdowns. He got sick in 2019, before anyone ever heard of Covid. Got pneumonia for a bit. When he got back home, he was bedridden. He never stood up again. I always wondered if he got the virus, and he was so old and unhealthy that it really messed him up. No proof though. He really did have a lot of health problems.
Also an aunt died shortly after he had. It was her kidneys. She skipped dialysis once, and that was it.
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
My father died in hospital and we were not allowed to visit due to Covid restrictions
My cousin was only family member to die of covid, but had 4 friends who did

Lost parents but not from covid
AuRevoir · 36-40, M
Too many.. If you start from exactly one years time of the shut down.. which is how mg mind categorizes it…. It was just a ridiculously fucked up period for me.. since I ended up having my own little health crisis during it..
Heartlander · 80-89, M
Two family members died from diseases unrelated to COVID. No funerals were held but the intent of memorial services at a later date. That didn't happen.
bugeye · 26-30, F
